Bristol Cathedral
-2018.
At the going down of
the sun photography project is very proud to announce that the final collection
of images from this project will be exhibited at Bristol Cathedral.
The exhibition will
run from 7th September 2018 until 23rd November 2018.
It will form the main
focus of the Cathedral’s commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of
the end of World War 1.
It is a very proud
moment to be part of such an important recognition of the sacrifice of so many
people.
The Cathedral was
originally founded in 1160 and it is an amazing feeling that these pictures are
to become temporarily a part of this 856-year-old, Grade One listed building
that is such a central part of the Bristol Community.
The architecture of
the building also enables the project’s images to interact with the building
itself adding a greater richness to the installation.
The images will be
installed throughout the Cathedral and it’s various chapels.
As these areas are
themed, i.e., Lady Chapel, Seafarer’s Chapel, etc it will mean that the images
can be displayed so that their themes can be seen against a specific historical
and contextual background.
As the Cathedral is
also a grave site and has a great many historical memorials I hope it will be a
fitting tribute to the ordinary men and women who lost their lives in conflict
and who will be remembered among the great and good of Bristol past right
within the heart of their community.
I would be really
grateful if you are able to share this page’s details with your friends so that
they too can Like the page.

I hope to keep as many people as
possible informed of all the many, new developments between now and September
2018 and so ensure that when the exhibition opens the largest audience possible
will be able to see it.
